Bordal – Bordados da Madeira was founded in 1962 and is currently the main and last manufacturer and exporter of the famous Madeira Embroidery.
With around 60,000 historical designs, this manufacturer specialises in the table, bed and baby segments, using the finest linens and cottons. From decoration to collection, all products follow strict quality control processes.
Now and forever, Bordal creates timeless pieces that carry the 'stitches' of Portuguese history and cultural heritage from generation to generation, and from heart to heart spread across the 4 corners of the world.
The company has been partners since 1998 with Susana Vacas and João Vacas. Over the past two decades, the company has dedicated itself to the innovation and adaptation of Madeira Embroidery to the current times, promoting its promotion in the regional and international markets, seeking to increase the export of its products worldwide.
With its own factory and 1 store in the city centre, in 2014 it created the Madeira Embroidery Historical Route, which can be visited in its factory.
